i see there are lot of knowledgeable people in this forum and as may of you know when you are trying to resolve issue and you want a quick answer you can spend may post before finding a solution.
where am i going with this,
well why dont the knowledgeable people club together to form a paid service .where the members can pay a fee to get some immediate resolution ,
like a full working image or working config etc.
the fee will be based on the problem

You may say that this defet the object of the hobbie, well you know sometimes you can work on something but never find a solution even when the solution is simple , at least this way you have the working solution and break it and learn from it.
lets face it nothings free and knowledge has a price and this way people will be more helpfull .
All forums needs money this is one way to create some income

I only wonder how you want to go through this, thro paypal, its not very viable as members of this forum come from all parts of the world, and paying to solve your problem would in itself cost you quite a bit to send that cash.
Am not saying impossible, but cumbersome though its workable. Just adding to your opinion.

Yes, many people are looking for immediate answers to problems they encounter, and usually this takes time searching, posting etc and sometimes they are unsucessful in their searches.

Your suggestion of working image/config files is excellent.

I think many members are involved in "satellite" as a hobby, are they really prepared to pay for advice?

Lets hope there are many replies to your suggestion.

paypal is one option and as for people all over the world if they have a mobile phone money can be collected securley through xml gateways, which is happening quite a lot in south america.

paypal will be the starting point......... this is not the big issue

i think getting people with expertise in different field, and have a tier system where all call go to teir 1 then teir 2 then god him self

the forum know who the experts are and only you can privde that teir system

Good point my friend,if that was possible on our forum alot of us would be very rich men now.But on our forum we give help for free.I understand your point in saying you would get answers more or less straight away,myself i think the enjoyment is waiting for a member who can find you or anyone a solution.thanks anyway m8 regards

And in the process of waiting and searching for an answer, you learn a lot which you would not do if you got an asnwer straight away. Sometimes what you learn is more on the exact topic and other times it may be loosely related to what you want. But in any case you end up learning more.

As pointed out earlier, the concept of Forum is everyone contributes whatever knowledge, big or small and collectively we become experts. And here everyone works on a voluntary non profit basis.

The other concept (what you have suggested) is an advisory or consulting service that can also work effectively provided the users (clients) are willing to pay. Perhaps if there are enough clients, MaldivianDigital Advisory Service may be born, as the bussiness arm of MD.

This suggestion cannot be applied on this forum. If we start like this, then MaldivianDigital will become either like Freelancer or eBay. Everyone will ask money for reply.

you all have valid points but if you think solution to all the problems will be obtained though reading the forum and asking questions then i must disagree , yes you will get the basic concept thats ok if you just want to watch tv but to understand the concept and appreciate the logic of how and why it works that can only come from someone who has that experiience of doing this for sometime and what i want to do is get to a very competent level by paying for that service, like doing a crash course in car maintenance
