Scots pub banned from using foreign satellite system

The Thunderton House Hotel in Elgin, Moray has been banned from screening Premier League football using a foreign satellite system.
Lord Drummond Young granted an interim interdict against McHardy Pub Company and licensee Karen McHardy, which means they can no longer use a foreign satellite system to screen football.
"This is now the Premier League's third successful interdict application in Scotland and should serve to reinforce the message that the use of foreign satellite equipment to broadcast Premier League football in the Scotland is illegal," a Premier League spokesman said.
"The Premier League will continue to seek recourse to the courts in respect of establishments purchasing foreign decoder boxes and subscribing to foreign satellite services that allow them to show matches not intended for broadcast in the UK or during the 'closed period' on Saturday afternoons."
