Compal integrates ******** purple-tv Content Protection Solution for Mobile Tv

Compal and ******** have concluded a cooperation agreement by which Compal will integrate purple-tv, ******** access control software, into Compal DVB-H Mobile tv devices.

Purple-tv will be licensed to Compal to enable users of mobile tv devices designed and manufactured by Compal to access premium mobile television offerings from mobile pay-tv operators.

Compal has developped mobile tv devices to support mobile tv service deployments on a worldwide basis.

Purple-tv extended feature set enables mobile handsets with the capability to support advanced distribution model for mobile television including tv channel bouquet subscription, « à la carte » subscription, pay-per-minute and pay-per-view.

The purple-tv solution brings a much needed versatility and variety of use case support to end users and service operators. This flexibility is highly valuable to mobile operators especially in the launch phase of their mobile tv services.

With more than 80 pay-tv operators worldwide using ******** conditionnal access solutions, purple-tv is poised to become a key technology for handset manufacturers aiming to market mobile tv devices with pay-tv access capability.
