UTVi ties up with Business Standard

The tie-up will augment the news content that UTVi currently offers UTVi, the soon to be launched English business news channel, today announced a tie-up with the country’s most respected financial daily, Business Standard. The tie-up will augment the news content that UTVi currently offers. The Channel will air BS Wire, BS Alerts and BS Breaking News along with the best business bytes throughout the day, based on the merit of the news. Using business content to keep the audience updated with the latest developments on the business news front, with inputs from Business Standard bureaus. The strategic alliance will give a boost to UTVi’s content. Says T.N. Ninan, Editor, Business Standard, “We are happy to partner with UTVi in this venture. This alliance gives us an excellent opportunity to combine the quality content of a business newspaper with the immediacy of television news.” UTVi will endeavor to get into the Business Standard news room to showcase senior journalists and subject experts. The views of these journalists and experts will be captured on air through programs such as a stock market preview in the morning, an edit page review or overview, and news items like “Tomorrow’s Headlines Tonight”. Business Standard will also share research from the Business Standard Research Bureau that can be showcased on UTVi. Business Standard in turn will publish extracts of interviews and stories telecast on UTVi , as well as occasionally print the highlights of big shows and interviews shown on the Channel. Says Govindraj Ethiraj, Editor in Chief, UTVi, “Business Standard is one of the country's most respected business dailies and is the first choice of serious business readers. We see considerable synergy and learning for us. Business Standard has some of the country's best economic journalists and the highest standards when it comes to quality, credibility and accuracy, qualities we will imbibe in our own coverage of business and economic issues..” The countdown has begun! Keep tuned for UTVi…simplifying business!
