Integral Systems Inc. won a contract to provide a second ground control system for ProtoStar Ltd., Integral announced April 22.
Integral will provide a integrated ground control system for ProtoStar 2, which is scheduled to be launched in early 2009. The contract includes primary and backup satellite control, network, and payload operations; communications spectrum monitoring and telemetry, tracking, and control hardware and software systems.
In July, Integral received a contract from ProtoStar to provide a ground system for the ProtoStar 1 satellite, which ProtoStar plans to have in orbit by mid-2008. ProtoStar will use the satellites to provide direct-to-home, high-definition TV and broadband Internet services in Asia.
