Virgin customers press red for iPlayer
The BBC has agreed terms with Virgin Media, who will now be able to offer the iPlayer catch up service to their subscribers.
But unlike other users of the iPlayer they will not have to download the device, as they will be able to watch the programmes on their own TV.
This is a unique service that Virgin Media customers will be getting; all they need to do is press the red button on their remote control to gain access to the iPlayer and all of the content from the previous seven days.
There will be no charge to Virgin Media customers for this service either.
This is first chance for viewers to actually see the iPlayer in action through their TV, making this additional service a valuable tool in securing more customers who would also like the opportunity to use the iPlayer, but for some reason or another have not done so yet
