PhotoChannel to manage Hallmark's online greeting card site
PhotoChannel to manage Hallmark's online greeting card site PhotoChannel Networks, a provider of online digital media services to retailers, has agreed to provide and operate an online greeting card site for Hallmark Cards and its customers in the UK for three years.
The online service will be launched in May 2008 to enable customers to select from customised card templates. They can also add their personal digital images to the card. Users can change the font and colour of the text and view the text edits in real-time.
PhotoChannel will combine its PNI Digital Media Platform with a new Flash-based greeting card builder. The PNI Platform acquires content, creates content transactions and sends the final output of the card to the Hallmark's production facility.
The online service will enable consumers to create cards required for a whole year. The cards will automatically be printed and mailed to the recipient on the pre-selected date.
Peter Fitzgerald, chairman and CEO of PhotoChannel, said: "The new card builder we have created delivers Hallmark a best in class solution that will allow them to merchandise and sell their vast card content online. Our platform delivers a product which may or may not include photos, while allowing complete consumer input and creating an online transaction."
