Media Solutions wins Indian channels

Altaf Alimohamed’s Dubai-based Media Solutions, a boutique media agency, has won a contract to push a batch of channels owned by INX Media into the Gulf region and other West Asian markets.

INX Media is about to launch its 9X general entertainment channel out of India. Hindi-language 9X is backed by Peter Mukerjea, and it is understood that other channels, notably 9XM will quickly follow.

9X claims viewership as high as 76m in one week, and the station is building up to launch on August 15 its high-profile drama series Mahabhaarat.

Altaf Alimohamed is a well-known media player in the region having looked after Star TV Group’s expansion into the Middle East.

"I am confident that Altaf and Media Solutions will help us take the popular programming of 9X and 9XM to millions of TV viewers in the region," said Peter Mukerjea, chairman and chief strategy officer, INX Media.
