Real Madrid TV in the Top 10 Satellite Channel.
Real Madrid TV in the Top 10 Satellite Channel Ratings Ranking in Spain and Going Strong with its International Service.
The new Real Madrid Television (RMTV), which has advanced over 40 ranking positions since the moment of its relaunching, sets a new record staying 6 months amongst the top 10 most viewed satellite channels in Spain according to the SOFRES ranking. Real Madrid TV has become the second sports channel, shortly behind the leader, Eurosport.
It has been just over a year after the relaunching of Real Madrid TV and the ratings establish the network as a benchmark specialised channel and a leader in sports news. The February survey by reputed Spanish media ratings firm SOFRES sets the station's daily viewership at roughly 796,000. Sports channel leaders Eurosport rank first with 800,000 viewers, just 4000 more than Real Madrid TV in Spain.
Real Madrid TV has firmly established its presence in Spain's Top 10 satellite channel ratings ranking. Additionally, the channel's audience shows great potential, positioned sixth among the youth sample, ages 13 through 24, ahead of entertainment stations such as AXN, The Cartoon Network, or Canal Hollywood.
The channel broadcasts Real Madrid news 24/7. There are two live daily newscasts at 2:30 pm and 10:00 pm. This is complemented by interview programs, chats, sports analysis, all of them making up a programming where the best plays and goals by the team are combined with a choice aesthetic and musical selection, and with repeats of important or quality football matches.
Real Madrid TV is broadcasted FTA in Spain via the ASTRA and Hispasat satellite systems, and at no additional cost in 5 other satellite packages. Real Madrid Television is also broadcasted in Europe and the rest of the world in Spanish. And as of last summer, the station boasts an English channel, a challenge that allows telecasting the current news and the rich history of the Whites to over 1 billion (anglo billion = 1000 euro million) fans spread through Europe, Asia, and the two Americas.
RMTV International
The International service of Real Madrid Television was launched back in July 2005, a ground-breaking project that makes it the only global football television station in existence. The team is a core of approximately 30 people, helping the service broadcast to over fifty countries around the world. If everything goes to plan, RMTV will be broadcasting shortly on other major networks in Europe and worldwide, thus spreading its reach. This is just one of the many new developments in the pipeline.
At the moment, the channel boasts varied content including, among others, talk shows like 'Extra Time', highlights programming such as 'Top Goals', and the starring telecast, the LIVE 4 pm CET News Program, complemented by hourly bulletins and a recorded, late-night news, which builds on the day's goings-on and introduces any hot news that may have developed during the day.
The global appeal of Real Madrid Football Club and its players means that the channel is already enjoying success in countries as diverse as Iran, Australia, and Russia, the latest addition. With plans to expand the service to cover more content on world football, it is no wonder that this service is considered one of the most exciting developments in global sport.
