Asiasat has been contracted by Eurovision to supply multiple transponders on the Asiasat 2 satellite during the Beijing Olympic Games in August, Asiasat announced July 1.
Eurovision will use Asiasat 2 to provide high-definition coverage of the event. Eurovision has been using Asiasat 2 as part of its global network to transmit regular and live video to its customers in Asia, Australasia and Europe since 1999.
“Eurovision is a valued client of Asiasat, who has built an impressive brand and expanded their business in Asia over the years by providing quality and reliable services,” Asiasat CEO Peter Jackson said in a statement.
Financial details of the contract were not released.
