Three years ago Sirius Satellite Radio agreed to pay ‘shock jock’ Howard Stern $500m for a 5-year contract. Now there’s gossip which suggests that there will be no rise in pay when his contract is up in 2010. But ultra-liberal Stern proved that there was value in his signing, and he brought subscribers into Sirius. Now, a talk rival from the opposite end of the political spectrum has been signed for $400m for a new contract through to 2016.
