Global Digital Broadcast has given details of its PlayTV UK channel line-up. The IPTV service leans on channels carried on the Freeview DTT system, but also includes a number of independent channels, as well as premium sports and international content.

“Finally, after four years of hard work, IPTV is now looking like it is supposed to, “said PlayTV UK managing director Jim Deans. “Our platform facilitates niche, small and independent channels to sit alongside the major broadcasters and, with our extensive sports offerings, it allows Rangers FC to sit alongside Accrington Stanley.”

PlayTV says that 1,000 set-top boxes are currently in the marketplace with ambitious plans to build to 10,000 within six months and 50,000 within the next year.
