Grupo Planeta's Antena 3 is planning to bid for a licence to operate a Colombian free-to-air channel together with La Casa Editorial El Tiempo (CEET) a Colombian media company.
The bid will be presented in Q3 this year. The Television National Commission Colombian national organization for the management of television licenses has informed the outcome of the bidding for this new channel, the third national serviceafter RCN and Caracol, will be known in May next year. The new channel would begin transmissions by the end of 2009.

Grupo Planeta owns 40% of CEET which edits several publications such as daily paper El Tiempo and the magazine Motor, among others.
