Examining France Télévisions’ 2007 activities, French regulatory body the CSA said the public broadcaster has “largely respected its obligations in 2007”, making particular efforts in original production and documentaries.
The CSA mainly underlined France Télévisions’ efforts to offer new drama formats, more cultural, scientific and discovery programming as well as a diversified sport offer and enriched youth programming.

Such congratulations must be gratefully received by France Télévisions’ directory board as the group is in turmoil a few months before the partial advertising ban. President Sarkozy did not hesitate to make recent reproaches about the broadcaster’s contents, saying that there was no distinction between France Télévisions’ programming and that of private networks.
