Nova Greece threatens crackdown on illegal viewers
MULTICHOICE Hellas has dispatched letters of warning to all those in Cyprus illegally broadcasting the subscriber television programmes of Nova Greece.
Multichoice is threatening to take legal action, with the first target being those offering the channels in question, without the authorisation of the company and using false evidence to acquire the necessary access card.
The letter read: "Our Company does not have the rights for projection of the NOVA subscriber programmes to Cyprus, because of the lack of the equivalent right from the beneficiaries of a big selection of programmes that our Company screens in the framework of NOVA subscriber programmes; this is a known fact, because our Company does not register subscribers that declare residency or space of projection of our programmes outside Greece."
Apart from tradesmen, a lot of private individuals are also illegal subscribers of Nova Greece, something that affects directly the interests of Cypriot channels, free or not, and more specifically Nova Cyprus, which screens legally the specific subscriber programmes.
