Taiwan's CTV Infotech selects Proxim Wireless equipment to deliver IPTV
August 12, 2008 - CTV Infotech, a Taiwanese subsidiary of Chinese Television Company, has selected WiMAX equipment from US firm Proxim Wireless to enable delivery of its wireless broadband triple-play service, including IPTV.
CTV Infotech's network reportedly consists of a combination of Proxim's Tsunami MP.11 and Tsunami MP.16 point-to-multipoint products, Tsunami GX point-to-point productsm and ORiNOCO AP-4000 access point equipment. CTV Infotech is also planning to deliver real-time news reporting capabilities and VoIP to the Taiwanese market.
