ICC Awards only on STAR Cricket
STAR Cricket will telecast the annual International Cricket Council Awards ceremony on September 11, 2008 at 19:00 hrs IST.
The LG ICC Awards 2008 features nine prestigious awards recognising some of the biggest names in world cricket. There is huge Indian interest for the LG ICC Awards ceremony as MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and Ishant Sharma have been nominated for various categories. The fifth edition of the awards to be held in Dubai on Wednesday, will be presented in association with FICA and will take into account performances by players and officials in the period between August 9, 2007 and August 12, 2008. Nominations for the LG ICC Awards 2008 - Cricketer of the Year: Shivnarine Chanderpaul (WI), Dale Steyn (RSA), Mahela Jayawardene(SL), Graeme Smith (RSA) - Test Player of the Year: Shivnarine Chanderpaul (WI) , Dale Steyn (RSA), Mahela Jayawardene SL) , Jacques Kallis (RSA) - ODI Player of the Year: Nathan Bracken (AUS), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (IND), Sachin Tendulkar (IND), Mohammad Yousuf (PAK) - Emerging Player of the Year: Stuart Broad (ENG), Ajantha Mendis (SL), Ishant Sharma (IND), Morne Morkel (RSA) - Associate Player of the Year: Ryan ten Doeschate (NED), Alex Obanda (KEN), Niall O'Brien (IRL) , Thomas Odoyo (KEN) - Twenty20 International Performance of the Year: Chris Gayle (WI), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (IND), Brett Lee (AUS), Yuvraj Singh (IND) - Women's Player of the Year: Lisa Sthalekar (AUS) , Charlotte Edwards (ENG), Claire Taylor (ENG), Nicola Browne (NZL) - Spirit of Cricket: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, West Indies - Umpire of the Year: Simon Taufel (AUS) , Mark Benson (ENG), Aleem Dar (PAK), Steve Davis (AUS), Rudi Koertzen (RSA) Do not miss the action!
