Voom HD Networks and Eutelsat visAvision have announced the launch of Rush on the KabelKiosk platform. The news was announced by Glenn Oakley , Voom HD Networks Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Business Development and Eutelsat KabelKiosk’s Managing Director Martina Rutenbeck. Rush is a 24/7 linear channel devoted to extreme sports and adrenaline-filled action.

Rush will be transmitted in standard definition via Eutelsat’s Atlantic Bird 2 satellite at 8 degrees West. The KabelKiosk platform is expected to migrate to the Eurobird 9A satellite at Eutelsat’s latest major platform 9 degrees East in the first quarter of 2009. The RUSH channel is already available through Germany’s Kabel BW, and a high-definition version of the channel is available on BSkyB’s satellite platform in the United Kingdom.
