Orange secures VOD rugby
French telco Orange has bought the VOD transmission rights to the French rugby Championship Top 14 clubs (1st division).
As part of the deal the clubs have agreed to blend the Orange name intothe competition which is now re-baptized as the 'Rugby Top 14 Orange'. The agreement covers the current season and until the end of the2011-2012 season. The specific amount of the transaction has not beendisclosed but sources suggest it cost about €5m to €6m. Two days after each game, Orange will offer the complete match on VOD, along with summing-up. Source: Rapid TV News 2008
