Sony, ESS fire at Promax/BDA 2008 awards
NEW DELHI: Indian broadcasters had much to celebrate at the Promax/BDA 2008 conference in Singapore. Multi Screen Media’s channels Sony, Sab, Max and Pix walked away with six awards - three each in gold and silver for various categories. Sab's Comedy ka king Kaun bagged the best comedy campaign gold award, while Sony’s Amber Dhara bagged gold award for best entertainment/variety campaign and Pix’s Frozen bagged silver award for the category best holiday/seasonal promo. ESPN Star Sports won three gold awards for the categories best out-of-house station image promo, best sports promo and best sports campaign. The sports broadcaster was also awarded three silver awards for station image promo, best sports promo and best sports campaign. Genx Entertainment (Bindass Movies) bagged gold award for best comedy promo for funniest spot in the 'something for nothing' category. Zee Entertainment bagged a silver award for best reality campaign for its campaign of Rock n roll Family and a gold award for best special event promo for its short film contest Get Shorty. Turner Entertainment Asia won a gold and a silver award for best children’s programme promo and best children’s programme campaign for Galli Galli Sim Sim – 2 Koi Hai. Channel V won two silver awards for best comedy promo for Sakira Beyonde and best editing for Girls on [V]. Viamcom18’s MTV bagged four awards - two gold awards in the category for best leisure and lifestyle promo for Gangster; best brand-integration promo for Virgin Comics and two silver awards (funniest spot) for Kick Ass Mornings - Kung fu and best brand-integration promo for Adidas Finger Football. NewsX bagged a silver award under the category of best news/current affairs promo for NewsX launch, while entertainment channel 9X won another silver award in the category of best interactive promo for 9X Dekho car jeeto. VH1- India won two gold awards in the category of best entertainment/variety promo for its work Sunday Brunch and for Rock Rules (best editing) and a silver award in the category of promo. National Geographic India won a gold award in the category of best collateral material for My Brilliant Brain and a silver award in the category of best entertainment/variety promo for Pink Floyd.
